Walid Shoebat(árabe: وليد شعيبات‎) é um cidadão americano nascido de um pai palestino e de uma mãe estadunidense. Shoebat tem sido criticado por alegadamente ter agido de maneira dúbia e apresentado inconsistências em suas declarações. Contudo, as imagens e fotos expostos por ele, são para nós bastantes evidentes de provas incontestáveis que merecem uma outra ponderação por parte de todos os governantes mundias e em especial dos cidadãos deste mundo globalizado. Não obstante a sua ajuda informadora orientada por uma busca á uma mudança radical no meio do seu povo e da organização que no passado ele fez parte ( A Irmandade Mulçumana), no entanto, creio que a maior motivação do Sr. Shoebat, é a sede por uma justiça a nível global tanto entre os seus conteraeneos como os actuais inimigos do seu povo, que na verdade são poucos os que entram na lista de exepção. 

É de salientar que, mesmo informados por tamanhas crueldades e brutalidades iracionais e desumanos, aleatórios a tudo que os preceitos éticos e doutrinários de qualquer religião, todos nós, somos alvos fáceis de ser dúbiado e arastado a entrar no pseudo movimento cognominado de Cristãos que estão lutando pela liberdade, longe do Neo-Imperialismo Islamico Comtemporaneo, que ao meu ver, está dotado de motivações e atitudes que merecem ser filtrados e ánalisados quanto aos príncipios imutáveis do reino que estes revidicam estarem á lutar. Não estou advogando os Mulçumanos, nem oponho aos seus rivais, o que quero abordar aqui, é que em todas as frentes de batalhas, existe uma bandeira que assinala a cor e a natureza das nossas lutas. E se os Cristãos Comtemporaneos querem vencer essa luta, deveriam voltar a enraizarem as suas vidas nos Príncipios Fundamentais desse próprio exercito. Caso contrário, estamos prestes a ver a história repetir-se, em que presenciaremos a ressureição das Cruzadas Comtemporaneas, e possivelmente uma guerra sem precedentes que assolara toda a terra. Dr. Michael Youssef, founding pastor of the 3,000 member Church of the Apostles  in Atlanta, who was born in Egypt, said that the ousting of former president Mohamed Morsi is a good thing for Christians in the North African country because the Muslim Brotherhood had kept Christians away from voting during the election by threatening to shoot them.

"As far as Christians are concerned, they are very happy with the outcome," Youssef said in an interview with The Christian Post on Monday. "(Morsi) was slowly replacing all government officials from top to bottom, from cabinet ministers to governors, getting rid of other people – he gets rid of them if they are not Islamists, and he appoints Muslim Brotherhood in their places."

Youssef, who is also the founder of Leading the Way, an international ministry program that stretches out to more than 200 countries, revealed that unbeknown to many people in America, the Muslim Brotherhood, which is behind Morsi, had been threatening Christians at the voting booths.

"I know this firsthand because I know folks on the ground.  In thousands of villages, during the election, they stood with guns outside the polling booths. And if a Christian wanted to go in to vote, they would say 'You go in, and we'll kill you.' And so hundreds of thousands of Christians couldn't vote."

Morsi was ousted from his presidential seat last week, with the military also suspending the constitution after millions took to the streets to protest. Clashes between Morsi supporters and opponents turned deadly with dozens dead, and the country yet to set a date for new elections to elect a new president.

Youssef noted that less than 40 percent of the Egyptian voting public cast their vote when it came to the new constitution, and 40 percent of those who voted, did so against it.

"It is the beginning of introducing Sharia Law, which is why one of the first things the army did was suspend the constitution, because it's not really constitutional," Youssef added.

President Obama's administration has found itself in a troublesome situation with Morsi's ousting, given that it publicly and financially supported the Morsi government.

After the ousting, the White House posted an official statement:

"The United States is monitoring the very fluid situation in Egypt, and we believe that ultimately the future of Egypt can only be determined by the Egyptian people. Nevertheless, we are deeply concerned by the decision of the Egyptian Armed Forces to remove President Morsy and suspend the Egyptian constitution."

Obama said: "I now call on the Egyptian military to move quickly and responsibly to return full authority back to a democratically elected civilian government as soon as possible through an inclusive and transparent process, and to avoid any arbitrary arrests of President Morsy and his supporters."

The Church of The Apostles founder, who has also written a blog for CP on the issue, offered that the reason why President Obama and former President George W. Bush gave their support to Islamic governments in the past is because they believe that would be an effective way to stop terrorism.

"It is not a Republican or Democrat issue," Youssef told CP. "The Americans thought from September 11 on that you can fight Islam with Islam. You put a Muslim Brotherhood or Muslim Islamists in government, than they will keep terrorism away."

As for the hopes of the 10-15 percent of Christians living in Egypt, the pastor said that their best chances lie in the election of an "even-handed, fair-minded Muslim individual, and not an extremist Islamist like the Muslim Brotherhood."

Mounir Bishay, president of the Los Angeles-based Christian Copts of California, added in a separate statement that the revolution has been "one of the greatest events in Egypt's modern history."

He denied reports that have tried to portray what is happening as a military coup, insisting that Egyptians had the right to rise up and remove the elected government from power for failing to live up to promises.

"While in office, President Morsy not only failed to deliver on his campaign promises, but he mishandled the economy, leading Egypt to the verge of bankruptcy," Bishay said.

"He pushed through a constitution written exclusively by Islamists, allowed extremists to openly persecute Coptic Christians with impunity, and primarily concentrated on garnering political power for Islamists by appointing them to key positions throughout Egypt, including the appointment of a member of the terrorist organization Gamaa Islameya to the Luxor governorship."

Amid the general instability and high emotions in the Egypt currently, a Coptic priest was shot dead over the weekend in attacks believed to have been organized by the Muslim Brotherhood, seeking revenge against Christians who they say supported the military's actions to remove Morsi.

"Every Coptic home they loot, they torch afterwards – Muslim homes are spared," a local Coptic Christian said of other attacks in Upper Egypt. "Most Copts are outside of the village, not knowing whether their homes are still there or looted and torched."

The Most Savage Killing Of Christians Is Already Happening

We live in the midst of death, in the presence of tyrants covered in the blood of the guiltless, protected by the shields of sycophants and callous cantonments of men who have given their hearts to idols as lofty as the darkest cloud, who have kept the soil of their souls from being touched by the tears of the innocent, and have thus cut off the sprouting vine of compassion from arising out of the seeds of sorrow.
As their cold eyes gaze upon the mounds of dead which can be seen as far as the melancholic dusk, the lives of the tyrant, and all the wicked around him, are exempted from the very vapors of death by which they suffocate the victims who are without voice to make vain cries to heartless mortals, and are reduced to wailing to the silent heavens.
The turbid smoke of the diabolical clouds the vision and chokes the voice of the righteous, who witness the light of truth drowning in the billows of deception, and the call to the highest heaven dwindling ever so quickly at the sight of the endless rivers of blood flowing from the holy corpses of saints.

This is what is occurring in Pakistan, right now as we speak. Our team, Rescue Christians, is ceaselessly working to continuously save lives, and in this laborious task, we are faced with the disturbing stories of the nightmarish torment in which the Christians live.

In July of 2013, a Christian man, Shafaqat Emmanuel, who is crippled to the waste down, and his wife, Shagufta Kausar, were arrested in Gojra District after being accused by evil men, who brought “up a slander upon the land” (Exodus 14:36), of sending text messages against Islam.

The Muslims came upon the two Christians with heretical rage, “laid their hands on the apostles, and put them in the common prison.” (Acts 5:18) His infirmities, his lame and fragile body, did not strike the souls nor melt the hearts of the wicked pagans. The impetuous horde of savage Muslims have called for these two sacrificial saints to be given the most horrendous of punishments. They demand that the husband be executed, and the wife thrown into prison for 35 years.

They have been deprived of their children while held captive in a dismal prison, isolated from life and restricted to the misery of oppressive solitude. Such are the innumerable struggles of the saints; such are the pains which these two Christians in Pakistan are suffering, and surely do they “endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.” (2 Titus 2:3)
Rescue Christians is now providing shelter and protection for the children of these two Christians, and for their grandfather as well. All of them can be seen in this video:

Justice Sayyed Mazahar Ali Akbar was at first convinced that these two Christians, Shafaqat and his wife Shagufta, were innocent of the charges, and accepted their defense. But, the conniving devils, the Muslim clerics, who follow their father who “was a murderer from the beginning” (John 8:44), brought forth threats to the judge and he, being sorely afraid, directed the trial judge to conclude the case within two months.
They threatened with violence our lawyers, and when our team’s lawyers went into the Toba Tek Singh jail on the trial date, the Muslims, like a legion of demons, again threatened them. When our team filed a complaint against these threats, this was turned down by the sitting justice Najam-ul-Hasan.
The judge of the case, Mian Amir Habib, takes the side of Allah rather than justice, and is in full agreement with the demands of the Muslim mob, who desire nothing but to “steal, and to kill, and to destroy” (John 10:10).
And with such wickedness and evil, we cannot help but lament with Job, that “The earth is given into the hand of the wicked” (Job 9:24).
The judge and the barbaric mass of godless Muslims, are demanding that the husband, Shafaqat, be put to death, and that his wife be placed in prison for 35 years. As our contact in Pakistan says:

According to our observations, judge Mian Amir Habib has set his mind to sentencing the couple; we know what is going on in this Kangaroo trial! We believe that he will give the death sentence to this crippled man and 35 years imprisonment to the uneducated Shagufta Kausar for sending text message. We do not know why human rights organizations around the world do not see such injustice in Pakistan, where Law is been used as a prostitute. Instead of giving justice to these persecuted people, judges are giving them sentences.

The god of the Muslims, who is forever ravenous for the souls of men; whose servants are the vagrant demons who neither settle nor slumber in their ceaseless foraging; whose place is the spacious glade of evil contemplation, in the midst of savage forests where wolves lurk about in the bitter air, searching for the sheep without a shepherd, who wander about lost and terrified at the foot of the mountain of soulless confusion and hysteria; and whose fate is the bottomless pit where resounds the harrowing cries of those taken by the very fallen angel who calls himself Allah.

What difference is this feigned devil, to the glorious Eternal King of Heaven, Who calls “the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind” to His feast (Luke 14:13); through Whose power “The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up” (Matthew 11:5); Who declares “Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy” (Matthew 5:7).

What mercy does this false god of the heretical pagans have for the maimed? He is completely absent of it. For Shafaqat, the Christian who they want to kill, is so infirm and crippled that he cannot even use the toilet, and yet the Muslims still want to keep him in captivity, deprive him of his own children, and take his life. As our contact in Pakistan says:

When our team reached the jail, we found that he is in the hospital due to multiple bed sores and that soon he will need surgery because his sores are more than 3 inches deep. We don’t know how long Shafaqat will survive in this condition.

For the last past six months, Rescue Christians has been striving to have Shafaqat and his wife Shagufta liberated, but the principalities of darkness have been advancing over the righteous, and the prospect of freedom for the saints is as a drop of the purest water in the midst of the deadest earth scorched by the advancing armies of hell. As St. Gregory VII once wrote:

the nearer the day of Antichrist approaches, the harder he fights to crush out the Christian faith.

We call on all those who carry the banner of our Leader, the Eternal King, to spread the story of Shafaqat and his wife Shagufta.
But what then will you, the reader, do, in order to help these sheep who live day by day without shepherds and are surrounded by wolves? How can you call yourself a Christian, or a believer in the Prince of Mercy, if you do nothing as your bothers and sisters are under the greatest of oppressions? One cannot have faith in God, and do nothing for the persecuted. You cannot call yourself a Christian, and only pray for the the persecuted without doing action. As the Apostle James declares:

What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. (James 2:14-17)

Will you then be that hireling who, with dead faith, only says “Depart in peace” in the face of the tormenting saints? I ask you, dear reader, to not be as the useless servant who buried his talent in the ground, as the greatest persecution in history is about to take place.
Do not be that hireling who runs when the wolves approach, and to whom the Lord shall say:

I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. (Matthew 25:43)

Now is the chance to be that servant to whom the Lord shall declare:

Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. (Matthew 25:36)

Will you be that servant? Now is the time to act.

American Government Plan Will Lead To The Annihilation Of Christians

It has been pointed out many times by the superficial media, that the Syrian Islamic uprising began with “pro democracy” movements. Well, through detailed documentation, it will be found that the Islamic invasion of Syria was actually planned years ago, in great part, by the American government. This unraveling also reveals that the coming holocaust of Christians will be caused by this plan of the US government.
According to US Army General Wesley Clark, in 1991, Paul Wolfowitz told him that the US has 5-10 years to “clean up those old Soviet client regimes, Syria, Iran, Iraq, before the next great superpower comes on to challenge us.”
In 2002, John Bolton referred to Syria and Libya as being a part of an “axis of evil,” that needed to be stopped by the US. As the Obama administration has done, and is doing, Bolton pointed to Syria’s chemical weapons arsenal as the reason for a possible intervention:

The United States also knows that Syria has long had a chemical warfare program. It has a stockpile of the nerve agent sarin and is engaged in research and development of the more toxic and persistent nerve agent VX. …America is determined to prevent the next wave of terror. States that sponsor terror and pursue WMD must stop. States that renounce terror and abandon WMD can become part of our effort. But those that do not can expect to become our targets. …America is leading in the fight to root out and destroy terror. …We call on Libya, Cuba, and Syria to live up to the agreements they have signed. We will watch closely their actions, not simply listen to their words. Working with our allies, we will expose those countries that do not live up to their commitments.

Richard Perle, who was Chairman of the Board in 2001 under the Bush Administration, was calling for US involvement in Syria and Libya back in 2003, saying:

So the message to Syria, to Iran, to North Korea, to Libya should be clear. if we have no alternative, we are prepared to do what is necessary to defend Americans and others.

The Obama Administration, alongside McCain and his ilk, have supported the measure of US involvement in Syria. This is not a sudden realization of a plan of intervention, but a continuation of a scheme that has been being organized and executed for numerous years. Richard Perle, in 2003, wrote:

Will we need to go after a terrorist camp in some remote village in Indonesia? Or raid Syria to retrieve or destroy weapons of mass destruction that may have been sent there by Saddam Hussein for safekeeping? …We face a daunting range of contingencies. To meet them, we must modernize the force left over from the cold war to make it more flexible, far more agile, and far more cost-effective. The ability actually to hit enemy targets is our first and most urgent priority. (Frum and Perle, An End To Evil, ch. 7 pp. 180-181)

In 2004, Perle told CNN:

The issue is, what is the Syrian government doing that affects us and affects us profoundly in our war on terror? And one of the things they’re doing is facilitating the entry into Iraq of terrorists who are there to kill Americans. They’re holding on to money that belongs to the people of Iraq. And they’re building chemical weapons, at least. So we have big problems with the Syrians.

Perle also rejected the idea that ousting out Saddam would only enable Islamic fundamentalism:

The idea that liberating Iraq would spawn terrorists all over the Muslim world I think will be proven to be wrong, and it will be proven to be wrong by the Iraqis themselves .

This, of course, is far from the truth. Before Saddam was vanquished, there was little to no talk of the threat Iran, and that is because Saddam was keeping the country in check. The Iranians were terrified of Saddam, and understood that an ounce of confidence on the part of Iran would have provoked the ruthless anger of Saddam.

As far back as 2007, the United States, according to Seymour M. Hersh, writing for the New Yorker, was involved in secret operations in Syria, which were strengthening Al-Qaeda:

The U.S. has also taken part in clandestine operations aimed at Iran and its ally Syria. A by-product of these activities has been the bolstering of Sunni extremist groups that espouse a militant vision of Islam and are hostile to America and sympathetic to Al Qaeda.

In conjunction with these operations, as the same writer described, “the Administration has coöperated with Saudi Arabia’s government”.
This is exactly what is happening now, with the Obama Administrations working with the Saudis in supporting the terrorist jihadists in Syria who are slaughtering Christians. Not only this, but the US has been providing weapons to the jihadists who do not hesitate to kill Christians.
When the Syrian revolution first began, Assad did a purposely botched and misconstrued interview with Barbara Walters, in which he told her:

You have different components, not everybody is fighting for freedom. …You have extremists — religious extremists — you have outlaws, people who have been convicted in court … drug smugglers, and you have like minded people of Al-Qaeda.

The Syrian revolution, from the beginning, was a work of Islamic fundamentalism, all with the help and support of the US government years in advance.
The future holocaust that will happen to Christians in the Middle East will be a result of America’s plan for the Middle East. When the the saints scream forth from the earth, they will be crying for justice, and their blood will be in America’s hands.

A Igualdade desde o Útero!

Na segunda-feira da Assembléia do Estado de Nova York aprovou a "Lei da Igualdade de Mulheres," mais uma vez o envio da legislação para o Senado Estadual de Nova York.

No ano passado, apesar do apoio, tanto na Assembléia e no Senado para nove dos dez pontos, a Assembleia realizou o refém nove pontos em favor do décimo ponto em expansão aborto.

"Não há nada para capacitar as mulheres em trazer o aborto sob demanda até o momento do nascimento para Nova York", disse Lori Kehoe, Diretor Executivo do Estado de Nova York Direito à Vida. "Em um dia e idade quando as fêmeas podem ser mortos no útero simplesmente pelo crime de não ser do sexo masculino, é uma paródia do que nossas antepassadas feministas ficou para tentar forçar isso em nova-iorquinos. Os direitos das mulheres devem começar no útero, ou as mulheres não têm direito a nada. "

O décimo ponto da Lei da Igualdade da Mulher, o ponto de discórdia entre a Assembleia e do Senado, seria expandir o acesso ao aborto através de todos os nove meses de gravidez para essencialmente qualquer motivo, permitiria que os não-médicos para realizar esses procedimentos cirúrgicos, e não fornece nenhuma proteções de consciência para os profissionais médicos que se opõem ao tirar a vida humana.

As vítimas inocentes da guerra

“AS GUERRAS de hoje são diferentes das do passado . . . As vítimas são principalmente civis, não soldados”, disse Perspective, um programa de rádio da ONU. Por exemplo, durante a Primeira Guerra Mundial, apenas 5% das vítimas eram civis. Mas, na Segunda Guerra Mundial, as baixas de civis aumentaram para 48%. E hoje, prosseguiu a rádio, “quase todas as vítimas das guerras são civis — 90% — sendo a maioria mulheres, crianças e idosos”.

Segundo Olara Otunnu, Representante Especial do Secretário-Geral das Nações Unidas para Crianças e Conflitos Armados, “uns dois milhões de crianças foram mortas em situações de conflito armado desde 1987”. Isso significa mais de 450 crianças vitimadas por dia nos últimos 12 anos! Além disso, no mesmo período, mais de seis milhões de crianças foram gravemente feridas ou ficaram aleijadas.

Uma das maneiras de a ONU combater o crescente número de vítimas infantis, sugeriu o Sr. Otunnu, seria promover zonas de paz. “As batalhas deveriam ser proibidas em locais onde há concentração de crianças, como escolas, hospitais e playgrounds.” Porém a maneira mais eficaz de a ONU garantir que os cidadãos comuns não se tornem vítimas de guerra seria “prevenir conflitos”, acrescentou o programa. De fato, para que a guerra não faça mais vítimas, é preciso que se acabe com a própria guerra. Será que isso um dia vai acontecer?

Contudo, quando esfolhamos a história da humanidade e das guerras, encontraremos sem dúvida, um dos maiores guerreiros e generais de sempre - David, que na sua experiência pessoal pode compreender que acima de todo o poder hibélico e da força humana, existe Um que pode Tudo. 

Essa crença alicerçada não no misticismo cultural, religioso, ou sincrético, mas na Pessoa de um Ser tangivel e real, é que revoluciona a humanidade para a glória perdida, o SENHOR espera que nós acreditemos nisso, pois, ELE não nos colocou na terra como meros robos, ou seres que aluncinam o seu capricho de Criador e Todo-Poderoso. O Eterno Criador, dotou-nos de uma capacidade de liberdade autonoma, dissasociada dos comandos manipuladores do egocentrismo que deseja levar a sí sobre toda a terra debaixo da denastia de ver a sua mente reinando sobre a bandeira do dominionismo. Todos carregamos em nós, essa maligna tendencia desde da nossa terna idade, e se formos sinceros, estaremos vendo a nossa sede medonha de vê-la perpetuada em mil teneborosas formas. É na nossa escola, no equipe desportivo, mesmo nos jogos electrónicos, está o nosso ego,  que persigue o sonho de ver somente a nossa bandeira e ideologia vençer e permaneçer invicto, sem mesmo atendermos, ou darmos ao luxo de sequer pensarmos, que o camarada ao lado é um ser também dotado de anseios, sentimentos e totalmente apto para cogitar e provar os mesmos sabores a vida que eu venho degustando.  Mesmo assim, não há partilha!

Este, e entre outros inumeros recantos da nossa alma, encontramos escondidos imagens como estas, e pena, é que o orgulho nos cega e não nos deixa que aceitemos que existe Alguém que, esteja agindo de forma bem distante de nós, e da melhor forma, mesmo sem desejar o nosso tão cobiçado trono e o nosso controlo remoto. ELE não usará o espírito de controlo e manipulação para levar os homens a amarem-se uns aos outros.

Deus, não usurpa ninguém o seu lugar na poltrona do jogo da sua vida. Todavia, ELE espera que humildemente, venhamos a entender que o único meio pelo qual, que a nossa natureza encontrará o vínculo que nos possibilita a encontrar com a vida emanada do seu Ser (que já foi oferecido a todos nós, sem exepção, por meio de Cristo) é sermos simplesmentes como crianças, quanto a maldade, mas, quanto a ciência, adultos. Todos nós explanamos a imagem de um ser adulto, mas a prática, denuncia perante os nossos comportamos, que agimos pior de que uma criança. É o pai gaba da sua faculdade sensorial e intelectual da sua noção de senso de perigo, que lhe fornece informações quanto os caminhos a prosseguir na sua vida quotidiano, contudo, esse mesmo que outra ora, castiga o seu filho por agir inconsequentemente, é o mesmo que, ao pisar á rua, derruba as leis da moralidade, do amor ao próximo sem medir as consequências, e espera na sua inconsequência, que Deus venha colher os seus erros. Queremos acelerar o nosso veículo da vida, em toda a velocidade que deseja a nossa alma febril, sem sequer querer sofrer um acidente sequer; queremos semear no terreno do prazer tudo o que vem nas veias, contudo, sem nunca pensar que depois da sementeira logo vem a semeadura. SOMOS inconsequentes! Não queremos colher as consequências! E em quem queremos colocar toda a culpa?

Se fossemos tão sábios, como julgamos que somos, provocaremos a restauração almejada em todos os quadrantes da vida e receberíamos num abrir e fechar de olhos o que temos procurado em todos nossos descobrimentos futeis.

David declarou   “Ele faz cessar as guerras até a extremidade da terra.” (Salmo 46:9) Quando se dará isso?Quando você e eu, entregarmos as nossas vidas ao Príncipe da Paz, e paremos de lutar uns com os outros como animais iracionais;

David Baker - Momentos de desconexão

David Baker: “Ninguém precisa abandonar a tecnologia, mas é necessário experimentar momentos de desconexão”

David Baker é a simpatia em pessoa. Ex-editor da versão inglesa da revista Wired, hoje ele continua contribuindo para a revista, mas passa a maior parte de seu tempo dando consultoria e ajudando ou, como ele prefere, provocando as pessoas a viver melhor. David passou a semana no Brasil para ministrar um curso intensivo da School of Life sobre trabalho, relacionamento e simplicidade e o Gizmodo Brasil conversou com ele sobre a maneira como usamos a tecnologia e os impactos da internet na nossa vida.

Sobre os problemas da vida conectada

“Há dois problemas com a tecnologia: ela está crescendo muito rápido e é muito sedutora. E ela vai se desenvolver cada vez mais rápido, por conta da Lei de Moore. Nós estamos tentando disputar uma corrida com a tecnologia para utilizá-la, mas nunca vamos vencer. Então nós precisamos nos reposicionar em relação à tecnologia e perguntar como nós podemos fazer para que ela não seja nosso mestre, mas uma ferramenta. Precisamos fazer com que os avanços tecnológicos sejam a nossa caixa de ferramentas. Se nós temos uma caixa de ferramentas em casa, nós não acordamos e vamos correndo serrar alguma coisa, vamos?
Mas nós acordamos e vamos checar nossas notificações, por exemplo. Então nossa relação com a tecnologia nesse momento é adolescente, é sedutora, nós estamos apaixonados. E agora temos a oportunidade de entrar numa nova fase do nosso relacionamento: entender a tecnologia, compreender o que é viver com ela. Temos que nos perguntar que tipo de seres humanos nós queremos ser e quais são as tecnologias que podem ajudar nesse propósito. Por exemplo: eu não gosto quando as pessoas ficam checando seus telefones quando eu estou falando com elas. Primeiro, porque é desrespeitoso. Porque existe algo de belo na atenção que as pessoas dão umas às outras. E isso é quebrado por um sujeito na Califórnia que juntou alguns algoritmos pra fazer um aplicativo. Veja bem: a tecnologia não é mágica. São só pessoas usando algoritmos bons. Então eu quero uma revolução na qual as pessoas amem a tecnologia, mas a usem mais como uma caixa de ferramentas e menos como um mestre.”

Um conselho para a geração que nasceu na era da tecnologia

“Eu definitivamente não quero que ninguém abandone a tecnologia, a não ser que a pessoa deseje isso. Mas nós sabemos que há momentos na História em que as pessoas abandonaram a tecnologia e encontraram coisas incríveis, como fez Thoreau. Ele resolveu abandonar a vida civilizada para redescobrir suas ligações com a vida e com o mundo. E funcionou para ele. Walden, de Thoreau, é um livro muito interessante para o momento em que vivemos agora. Porque ele fez, de forma completa, algo que podemos fazer num dia.
Eu odeio aconselhar, mas eu gosto de provocar. Eu quero estimular as pessoas, provocá-las. Então eu digo ‘Por que você não tenta em experimento? Por que você não tenta ficar sem entrar no Facebook por doze horas’ e pode ser algo interessante, embora seja meio assustador, mas você vai perceber que ficou menos assustado que imaginou que ficaria. E você pode descobrir como aproveitar essas doze horas. Na próxima vez você pode tentar ficar doze horas sem telefone. Ninguém precisa abandonar a tecnologia, mas é necessário experimentar momentos de desconexão.”

Desconecte-se

“A ideia de sempre estar conectado é uma invenção da banda larga. Eu tenho quase cinquenta anos e eu me lembro de quando a internet era discada. Você se conectava e se desconectava porque era como um telefonema, você telefonava para a internet. Agora nós podemos estar sempre online e assumimos que essa é a maneira correta de usar a internet. Mas às vezes nós deveríamos experimentar ficar offline e ver como nos sentimos. Eu acho que muitas pessoas podem descobrir que de repente elas estão pensando diferente, conversando mais, indo a parques. E eventualmente elas podem pensar ‘E se eu ficar dois dias sem internet?’. Então meu conselho é experimentar. Porque nós somos viciados em internet. As pessoas saem de casa, percebem que esqueceram seus telefones e atravessam a cidade outra vez para buscá-los. Nós também fazemos isso com drogas e isso é péssimo. Então temos que ajudar as pessoas a pensar “Eu esqueci meu telefone em casa e isso não é um desastre”. Porque é só um pedaço de plástico com um computador dentro!
Quando eu era criança, houve um período durante os anos 1970 na Inglaterra em que nós ficávamos sem eletricidade por doze horas. Então eu digo às pessoas para imaginarem um mundo sem eletricidade e a primeira coisa que elas respondem é ‘Jesus!’. Sem televisão. Sem telefone. Imediatamente a nossa conexão com as coisas muda, as conversas mudam. E as pessoas descobrem que a tecnologia é incrível, mas faz com que nós deixemos de descobrir coisas que nós temos que começar a buscar novamente.”

A zona de conforto

“Na palestra que darei sábado, eu vou falar em português. E essa não é minha língua nativa, eu ainda estou estudando português. Eu quero fazer a palestra em português porque eu decidi explorar algo que é novo para mim, quero sair da minha zona de conforto. Saia da sua zona de conforto. Primeiro, você vai ficar ansioso, mas depois novas ideias e novas oportunidades aparecerão. Mas você não vai ver nada disso se ficar na sua zona de conforto. Eu estou ansioso. Talvez meu português seja horrível. Então quero que as pessoas vejam o que eu estou fazendo e quero que isso as inspire a sair de suas zonas de conforto.”

A resposta para a vida, o universo e tudo mais

“Eu não tenho respostas. E eu também não tenho conselhos. Porque a verdade, seja lá o que isso signifique, é que a resposta correta está dentro de nós. A resposta certa para mim não é a resposta certa para você. Então é importante que as pessoas se lembrem: se as respostas existissem, nós poderíamos fazer um google extremo com perguntas como ‘como eu devo viver a minha vida?’ e descobriríamos.  Pessoas que dizem que existe uma resposta são charlatões. Porque elas dizem que sabem como a vida deve ser vivida, dizem que sabem quais são as regras. Mas você deve ir além das regras. Mas para algumas pessoas isso é muito atraente, porque elas não vão precisar pensar. Mas para outras pessoas isso é um problema, porque elas parecem ótimas, mas elas não conseguem viver suas vidas de acordo com as regras. E elas não precisam viver assim e nem devem se sentir culpadas e inadequadas por não seguirem as regras. Então eu acho que devemos rejeitar as respostas e substituí-las por provocações. Uma conversa ao vivo é muito diferente de uma conversa por Skype. Temos que entender que há coisas que as pessoas fazem melhor do que a tecnologia.”

Como trabalhar de modo mais inteligente

“Eu acredito que quase todos nós podemos trabalhar menos horas, mas trabalhar de modo mais inteligente. É muito irônico que agora que a tecnologia está aqui para nos ajudar a trabalhar melhor, tanto em Londres quando aqui em São Paulo, as pessoas ainda estejam no escritório depois da meia-noite. Alguma coisa está completamente errada. E há duas razões para isso: a primeira é que o capitalismo encoraja coisas como uma cidade em que metade da população fica nos trabalho até meia-noite e outra metade que sequer tem emprego. Esse é o resultado político do capitalismo e nós temos que mudar esse sistema, temos que mudar a forma como distribuímos o trabalho e o dinheiro. Eu gostaria que todas as pessoas trabalhassem só metade da semana. Mas a questão é: o que vamos fazer quando as pessoas trabalharem menos e ganharem menos? É um debate incrível e não é nada novo. Eu acho que nós podemos trabalhar menos e de forma mais inteligente fazendo duas coisas: a primeira é se desconectar da tecnologia e da internet.
Um dos maiores desafios para se trabalhar de forma inteligente são as interrupções que a tecnologia traz. Há e-mails chegando o tempo inteiro. Você está trabalhando, pensando e de repente chega um e-mail e então o trabalho fica mais lento. Há estudos que dizem que o trabalho fica oito vezes mais lento. Então nós precisamos trabalhar oito vezes mais tempo, mas temos que produzir as mesmas coisas que fazíamos antes e as pessoas acabam levando trabalho para casa. Se você parasse de olhar seus e-mails, acabaria tudo que tem fazer muito mais cedo. Nós poderíamos oferecer às pessoas a oportunidade de trabalhar rápido e de forma inteligente e depois irem para casa ou explorar novos projetos. Se você acabasse seu serviço mais cedo, poderia usar o resto do dia para fazer o que quisesse porque boas ideias vêm desse tipo de exploração.
E a segunda coisa sobre o mercado de trabalho é que a maior parte do trabalho é completamente inútil. Eu escrevo um relatório para alguém e ele envia o documento ara uma terceira pessoa e depois nós três vamos fazer uma reunião para discutir o relatório, enquanto uma quarta pessoa escreve uma versão do relatório que será enviada para dez outras pessoas. Essa é a descrição do trabalho de muitas pessoas. Nós precisamos olhar para o mercado de trabalho e perceber que rituais que parecem ser obrigatórios são na verdade invenções que nós poderíamos “desinventar”. Assim como poderíamos desinventar o conceito de estar sempre online. Precisamos ser mais questionadores, sobre nós mesmo e sobre o nosso trabalho. Por que estamos tendo essa reunião? Por que eu escrevo esses relatórios? Por que eu faço isso desse jeito? Temos que responder essas perguntas. Eu suspeito que no mercado de trabalho nos fazemos suposições demais. Fazemos suposições importantes que estão erradas. Por exemplo, nós supomos que quanto mais horas trabalharmos, melhor estaremos trabalhando. Na verdade, quanto mais horas eu trabalho, pior fica a minha vida pessoal, todos nós sabemos que isso é verdade.”
